In line with our mission to empower and equip our members with the skills necessary to improve their lives and the community, we are proud to offer a training series focused on providing women with the knowledge to serve on non-profit boards.
The training series will start in January and sessions will be taught by faculty from High Point University's Nonprofit Leadership and Management Program.
The series will culminate in a panel discussion with local nonprofit Board chairs who are looking for energetic, talented and qualified leaders to help them achieve their missions.
Instead of a regular GMM, this month we will hold our Small Group Meetings. This is our opportunity to discuss how we can work together to make the League the best that it can be. Importantly, this year we will focus a significant portion of our discussion on reviewing the information presented at the GMMs throughout the League year on community needs and resources with the goal of selecting a Community Impact focus for the future.
Small group meetings will be held at various locations throughout the day. You will select one of the following times/locations when registering:
Morning Location 1
Morning Location 2
Evening Location 1
Evening Location 2
Training related to the Community Impact focus selected during Small Group meetings will be presented by community partners.
This will be our final business meeting and training session of the 2019- 2020 League year. It will feature speakers who will help our Active membership design service projects and create partnerships to make a meaningful impact on our community addressing the need selected as our Community Impact focus during our previous Small Group Meetings.
Our League was founded on April 28, 1928, and 90 years later our Mayor, Jay Wagner, proclaimed April 28th the Junior League of High Point Day. We will celebrate our founding and 92nd anniversary with a celebration at our Briles House headquarters. We welcome all members and friends to join us as we bury a time capsule filled with memorabilia commemorating our recent initiatives and accomplishments.
All members are cordially invited to our Annual Dinner, where we will recognize leadership transitions, New Member inductions, annual award winners, and the successes of the 2019-2020 League year! The celebration will begin with cocktails served from 5:30-6:30pm, followed by dinner and a festive program from 6:30-8:00pm at the String & Splinter Club (305 W. High Avenue, High Point).
The Junior League of High Point, Inc. is working to create a better community.
But, we can only do it with your help. Join with us in our mission now!
