The theme for our 2018-2019 League year was, “Celebrating Our Past - Inspiring Our Future” and as an organization we commemorated our 90th anniversary year by giving back to our community in a big way. The Junior League of High Point’s 90 Hours for 90 Years Volunteer-a-thon was a service project designed to honor the League’s ninety year legacy of service to High Point with ninety consecutive hours of signature projects and partnerships to aid and assist our community. Starting Thursday, November 8th and continuing through Monday, November 12th, members of the Junior League participated in service opportunities that aligned with and supported our mission to improve the health, education, and welfare of women and children.
Our community partners included: the American Red Cross, Cover the City Project, Girl Scouts of the Piedmont, GoFar, Habitat for Humanity, the High Point Museum, the High Point Public Library, High Point Theatre, High Point University, Montlieu Academy of Technology, Miss High Point Pageant, Open Door Ministries, Project Linus, Salvation Army, and the YWCA.
Taken as a whole, the Junior League of High Point’s 90 Hours for 90 Years Volunteer-a-thon supported a number of community programs and engaged not just the three hundred or so members of the Junior League, but countless others in our community. Across the ninety hours, we provided 800 hours of service by Leaguers and our community partners.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US FOR 90 YEARS. WE LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT 90 YEARS!
