How to Join the JLHP

PLEASE JOIN OUR NEXT PROVISIONAL CLASS!

The Junior League of High Point is made up of many dedicated women who have been working hard since 1928 to give back to the community. When considering joining, people often ask the questions, “What do I have to do for the League?” and “What does the League do for me?”

WHAT DO I DO FOR THE LEAGUE?
During your first semester in the Junior League you will have Provisional status. The goal of the Provisional year is to train and prepare you for Active League status. You will be an active part of our activities, just note that you will not be able to serve in any leadership positions for our various committees this semester. Additionally, a few requirements are required of you. The Provisional requirements for the 2010-2011 League semester are:

◊ Pay $100.00 annual dues and $40 provisional fee by December 1, 2010
◊ Attend 5 General Membership Meetings (2nd Tuesday of the month)
◊ Attend 4 training meetings for Provisionals only – (1st Tuesday of the month)
◊ Assist in completing the Kentucky Derby Party Project
◊ Fulfill fundraising commitments that are the same for all League members:
* Sell at least 1 cookbook
* Spring fundraiser – Includes a time commitment of about four hours and selling of $100 to $150 worth of tickets for Kentucky Derby Party.

All monetary fundraising commitments can be completed by selling or purchasing. Our goal is to reach out into the community to sell as much a possible so that more people can learn what the Junior League of High Point is all about!

WHAT DOES THE LEAGUE DO FOR ME?
The best way to answer this question is to ask the person that told you about the League! They will tell you that you will get more out of the Junior League than you put in. The more time you give the community through the work of the Junior League, the more personal fulfillment and lasting friendships you have! But, without a doubt you will get:
◊ Meaningful and lasting friendships with many wonderful women
◊ Personal fulfillment in that you have made a difference in the lives of women and children and have helped to make High Point a better place for all
◊ Training in various skills that enrich both your personal and professional life such as:
* Leadership
* Project Development
* Technology
* Fundraising
* Communication
* Publishing Newsletter and Magazine
* And SO MUCH MORE!
