JLHP Louisiana Flood Relief

To donate please visit: https://www.gofundme.com/jlhpfloodrelief

"This disaster is the worst to hit the United States since Superstorm Sandy, and we anticipate it will cost at least $30 million -- a number which may grow as we learn more about the scope and magnitude of the devastation." - Brad Kieserman, the Red Cross' Vice President of Disaster Services Operations and Logistics

After learning the impact of devastation on communities and sister Leagues within the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc., the Junior League of High Point, Inc. in North Carolina has a calling to stand ready to assist in meeting the needs of communities that have been affected.

While there are many agencies who are assisting with devastation relief, we are taking the approach as a women's organization to help from a different standpoint.

All donated money will be given directly to the Junior League of New Orleans. Once received, the money will be used to purchase diapers, women's feminine hygiene products, and gift cards to Wal-Mart and Target to help flood victims in emergency shelters across Louisiana.

Junior League of New Orleans president Maria Pardo Huete said, "we're women. So we think, what will women need right now? And they'll need diapers for their babies and formula, which they can buy with the gift cards."

As a society the fear of losing our home and the blessings wrapped up inside our place of comfort is indescribable. We, and the recipients of your donation, are very thankful for your help in easing the nightmare that has become a reality.

The Junior League of High Point will be sending the money to New Orleans on September 9, 2016.
